What an honor to know that our work at Cap Soc Agency literally saves lives!

This year Didi Hirsch’s annual event, Alive Together: Uniting to Prevent Suicide, was held on October 23, 2022; and while gathering analytics to recap the event, I truly felt proud of the work that we’re doing and its impact on individuals struggling with suicidal ideation and the loss of loved ones to suicide.

As the nation’s premiere suicide prevention center, Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services provides a comprehensive array of crisis services, therapy, outreach and training to those in need. Didi Hirsch also participates in leading edge research that is transforming the field and saving lives. Over the last 15 years, Didi Hirsch has helped over 1 million individuals in crisis. Each day, Didi Hirsch’s crisis counselors provide support to over 350 callers, chatters and texters, saving the lives of at least 10 people who likely would have died by suicide.

With a focus on building community and meaningful connections, Alive Together: Uniting to Prevent Suicide supports survivors of suicide loss and attempts. During this community-building event, participants walk 2,160 steps through Exposition Park in honor of the approximate 2,160 lives lost daily to suicide around the globe.

Cap Soc was tasked with designing and executing a content marketing plan to build community and garner support around the event; and because of the generosity of nearly 1,500 donors, Didi Hirsch was able to raise nearly $500,000 for its suicide prevention programs.

Event Content Marketing Tactics

1. Leveraging Influencer Video Content

Cap Soc assisted in developing a video campaign entitled “We Need You Here,” that included influencers, event participants and Didi Hirsch staff. Each video told a story about the way suicide has impacted their lives, shared powerful statistics around suicide, and highlighted who they are walking for in the upcoming event. Videos were curated into a playlist on Didi Hirsch's YouTube channel, and individual videos were posted to Didi Hirsch social media channels throughout the month of October for a total of 44,743 video views.

2. Social Media Toolkit Design

Cap Soc designed a social media toolkit for the Alive Together event that included interactive, statistic, and team building frames to be shared by supporters & participants with a call to action to register for the upcoming event.

 
 

3. Creative Campaign Content

Always-on social media content included graphics from the social media toolkit & video campaign; and highlighted event participants & sponsors, mental health relevant carousels, user generated content, influencer team graphics, & how-to's for registering and donating. Cap Soc also collaborated with the event DJ to create a playlist for walkers.

 

Didi Hirsch owned social media channels:

  • Directed approx 60% of traffic to the Alive Together site

  • Reached over 435,000 users

  • Gained nearly 650 net followers

  • Received over 27,000 user engagements

4. Day-of Event Content Production & Engagement

Cap Soc was on site 10.23.22 with 4 team members to capture photography, video content, and to live-post day-of content to Didi Hirsch social media profiles.
